About the project.
At Bummock I led the development of Inspector, an offline-first Flutter field inspection app processing over 200,000 inspections per month for around 300 specialised users, improving sync performance by 50%. I also built Encryptor with React Native and defined both products under Clean Architecture and DDD: React on the web, NestJS with Hexagonal Architecture and PostgreSQL on the back end. On the DevOps side I migrated monthly manual on-premise builds to automated AWS pipelines with Terraform.
Bummock's field inspections happen where connectivity does not: ports, warehouses and remote sites. Inspector, the Flutter app David Gavilanez led, was designed offline-first with Bloc for state and Hive for local storage, so around 300 specialised users can work disconnected and sync when a network appears; the app now processes more than 200,000 inspections per month and its sync performance improved by 50% under this architecture. Encryptor, its React Native sibling, covers the online flows.
As Full-Stack Developer & DevOps Specialist he defined both products under Clean Architecture and DDD: React with Vite and TypeScript on the web, NestJS with Hexagonal Architecture over PostgreSQL on the back end. On the operations side he replaced monthly manual on-premise deployments with automated AWS pipelines built on Terraform and CodePipeline, giving the team reproducible environments and on-demand releases, and set up the testing and QA stack from zero: Cypress, Jest and SonarQube gates in every pipeline. Mentoring there runs through training sessions as much as through pair programming and code reviews, spreading the architecture patterns across the whole team.
